LRUT & SRUT in Detail

LRUT (Long-Range Ultrasonic Testing) and SRUT (Short-Range Ultrasonic Testing) are complementary ultrasonic inspection methods used to evaluate the integrity of pipelines, pressure systems, and other hard-to-access assets. LRUT is designed for rapid screening over long distances — often up to tens of meters — detecting wall loss, corrosion, and large-scale defects without requiring extensive insulation removal or surface preparation. SRUT, on the other hand, focuses on smaller, more localized regions, offering high-resolution imaging of areas like pipe supports, nozzles, or tank bottoms.
